My father told me marriage isn’t a bed of roses, and he was right.  After just two years, I told my wife I was moving out. But when I started looking at apartments (I found one in Santa Clara, not far from my job at the Mineta San Jose Airport), I realized I had a security deposit problem.

It’s tearing up my financial life but I guess everything with cancer is a struggle. It can ruin everything in your life. And that’s what it’s been doing to me. I think the two biggest fears of someone in middle age is to either die before your time or live broke.  Well, actually to die broke and leave a family behind in bankruptcy is perhaps worse.
