I had a decent job, I really did. It was enough for me to pay the rent, the bills, the groceries, and have gas in my car. I was doing okay. Too bad the economy is going the way it is right now, because I lost my job. They just couldn’t afford to have me on board anymore. It sucks, but hey, that’s life. Sometimes things just happen. I really didn’t know what I was going to do, and I started to worry.

I called home to my Mom, and she didn’t have any extra money to spare. She did offer me a place to stay, but that is the LAST place I want to end up again - in Mom’s basement. I’m sure you guys can understand that. I needed an answer. I was talking to one of my buddies and he told me about a time when he needed money and he got a car title loan. I just keep showing up to work everyday. And my old boss just keeps looking at me when I show up and sit down in my desk and says “you’re not getting your job back” and then I tell him “Really why not?” He says “Paul, get over it, I fired you five months ago” and then I tell him “yeah but I thought you might need me back.” And he says “not today” to which I reply “OK see ya tomorrow then” and leave. I’ve been living at my parents in Evergreen for the past three months.

It’s not right for a thirty two year old man to be living with his parents. That’s why I found a place in Downtown on Barnard and Pomona. It’s a little apartment and I’d be sharing it with a friend but it’d be worth getting out on my own. I need to find money for a security deposit though. I can’t afford it because I have bad credit but I kept looking.
